About IDS Monitoring

IDS design, manufacture and support state-of-the-art data acquisition systems and integrate these with high performance instrumentation to provide reliable cost-effective monitoring solutions.   We can supply single components or complete end-to-end solutions that include versatile on-line data management and visualization.

More than fifteen years of experience deploying systems in the field and significant investment in R&D has allowed us achieve systems that are competitively priced, that are easy to implement and that require less support and maintenace than alternatives. We recognise that achieving reliability, ease-of-use and versatility is key to delivering a lower cost of ownership for our clients.

We pride ourselves on our pre and post sales support and always work with our clients to maximize their return on investment.

Applications

IDS Monitoring technology has application in many areas including, aquaculture, dreging support, harbour management, the water treatment industry, fisheries management,  oceanographic research, flood management, civil and coast engineering, pipe-line and under water cable monitoring, erosion studies, pollution control, maritime leisure industry and more.

IDS News Items

IDS-Floodwatch is launched  This system has been designed to use real-time data with forcest information to keep system users informed about a flood risk well in advance of the the event and allows users monitor the flood as it develops and recedes.

Upgraded Iridium Satelite module - IDS have completed the development of the new, smaller iridium telemetry module for use with the IDS DataPOD in extremely remote locations

New IDS Smart Tide Gauge launched -  with integrated barometer and new features where sampling and reporting rates automatically adapt to the local conditions.

New Derived Data functions for DataLink -  this delivers new derived datasets in real-time using measured parameters.  For example using river depth and a rating curve to derive flow values, or perhaps pH to derive a run-off index.

Featured Products

A small selection of our featured products are mentioned here with additional details in the "Products and Services" section of this web site.

The IDS DataBuff (shown opposite) is the latest of the IDS data buoys and is designed as a very low cost solution for monitoring in relatively sheltered coastal seas, lakes and large rivers.

IDS Water Quality Monitoring Systems The parameters measured routinely by IDS systems include pH, Conductivity, Dissolved Oxygen, Turbidity, Chlorophyll , temperature, nutrients and others.

IDS Smart Tracker is a innovative, reliable system for tracking assets. It is used for real-time fishing fleet monitoring, charter boat tracking or other vehicle/asset tracking. It also can be used  in our coastal drifters.

The IDS Pumped Monitoring System is an innovative way of sampling water and has significant potential cost savings for instrumentation and maintenance.

Web Data Management

All IDS Monitoring solutions with integrated telemetry include a capability to connect with the IDS DataLink internet system.

This allows data visualisation and data management on the web in real-time while providing secure controlled data access. Data is viewed in table format, on maps or on graphs such as the live data example below.

This simple example of a DataLink embedded graph shows LIVE water leveldata for the last 48 hours from an IDS client monitoring station in the River Lee Estuary in Cork City, Ireland.

This example is only a very small part of the DataLink system and to see other sample datasets and get  a more complete description and demonstration of the DataLink System please Click here.
