Why we do what we do 

IDS and Green Rebel are building our team to help deliver our primary mission which is to collect data that will enable the offshore renewable industry to deliver on our global climate objectives. More specifically we collect these data for three main reasons :

​

  • Optimum Site Selection -  our data is used by clients and authorities to determine the best place to develop offshore wind farms.

  • Better Engineering Design -  our data will allow engineers achieve technical designs that achieve best performance

  • Informed Environmental Protection - our data will help ensure that offshore developments happen in a manner that appropriately protects our natural marine ecosystems and the amenity and livelihood for our maritime communities.

The team we are recruiting

We are now recruiting talented ambitious individuals to join an already exceptional team across a number of divisions. Successful candidates will demonstrate their potential as creative, hard working people that are motivated by a challenge. IDS will enable and encourage our individual team members to show initiative and collaborate when more appropriate. For many of our positions there is the possibility of flexible hours and part-time working from home. These and other staff benefits such as pension and health care support are described in the specific job descriptions. Some posts may involve international travel as our operations is global.

Quality Manager

The quality manager will be responsible for developing new, improving existing, and evaluating all quality procedures across IDS operations.  IDS is looking for candidates that are dynamic and ambitious. The successful candidate will be conscientious, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and will be an innovative problem solver. A key part of this role will be supporting and directing the rollout of technology that will enable more efficient implementation of quality systems.

The Quality Manager  will report to the Chief Operations Officer. This post will be based in Limerick but will involve some work in Cork and elsewhere from time to time.

Field Engineer / Technican

The successful candidates will work on all aspects of the data buoy life cycle including assembly, testing, deployment, servicing and recovery.  Engineering/technical training is beneficial and/or relevant marine or technical experience.  The successful candidate will be a team player and will be flexible in terms of hours and location.  These posts may require working at sea and as such candidates should be physically fit as working at sea can be demanding. The candidates should enjoy problem solving and be good with detail. As this team are required to work in the field some of the time, marine experience is beneficial.  This post will be based in Limerick but will involve travel in Ireland and abroad.

Data Scientist

IDS is recruiting a dynamic software engineer to work on desktop and possibly Android mobile applications.  The successful candidate will have a key role in upgrading and maintaining IDS DotNet and mobile applications and developing new systems.  The candidate should have relevant experience with .Net and experience developing with C#. Experience with SQL Server database development is desirable and DNN module development and experience with Android Development Studio are also beneficial.  

The candidate will be self motivated, conscientious and work well with a team.
